The Curriculum

The course runs in order, from what the skin is through to running your own practice. Each module ends with an exam.
Module 1: Introduction to Skincare
What skincare is, what a skincare professional actually does, and why the work matters.
Module 2: Skin Anatomy and Physiology
The layers of the skin and how they work, so you can read a client's skin and recommend care.
Module 3: Basic Skincare Techniques
The core routine, cleanse through to sun protection, plus the tools and how to use them safely.
Module 4: Product Knowledge and Ingredient Education
Product categories, how to read an ingredient list, and how to match a product to a skin type.
Module 5: Specialised Skincare Treatments
Facials, peels, and masks, and the difference between treating acne and treating ageing.
Module 6: Skincare for Diverse Clientele
Treating every skin tone with care, including hyperpigmentation and culturally sensitive practice.
Module 7: Building Client Relationships
Consultation, listening, setting goals with a client, and the habits that bring them back.
Module 8: Business Fundamentals for Aestheticians
Your business plan, a compliant practice, and handling pricing, bookkeeping, and stock.
Module 9: Marketing and Running Your Skincare Business
Finding clients, running the day to day, and growing the practice at a pace you can sustain.
